DAY 1            YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS IN LOS ANGELES
Welcome to Los Angeles! Travel on your own to Union Station, one of the city’s most iconic gems, and board Amtrak’s Southwest Chief to Williams, Arizona. Onboard, you’ll catch glimpses of the fabled American West from the Observation Car—the kind you can only experience from the comfort of a train. (Overnight onboard Amtrak)

DAY 2            GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK
Today, the train arrives in Williams, Arizona, famous for being the “Gateway to the Grand Canyon.” Enjoy an included breakfast at the Grand Depot Café and browse the gift shop before boarding the Grand Canyon Railway to the awe-inspiring South Rim. With close to two dozen expansive, breath-taking viewpoints at the South Rim, you’re guaranteed to make some lasting memories while on your sightseeing tour of this great natural abyss. Can’t-miss panorama views include Mather Point, Yavapai Point, Desert View, and Hermit’s Rest. (Overnight in Grand Canyon’s South Rim) B

DAY 3            GRAND CANYON NATIONAL PARK
With a free day to explore the park, why not check out any viewpoints you didn’t get a chance to visit yesterday and capture more memories? You could also do a little planning on your own and get away from the crowds to really experience the majestic Grand Canyon. (Overnight in Grand Canyon)

DAY 4            LAKE POWELL AND ZION NATIONAL PARK
You’ll be picked up from your hotel in the Grand Canyon and travel close to the picturesque shores of Lake Powell and over the Glen Canyon Dam. In Zion, you will experience one of Utah’s most breath-taking landscapes. Highlights of your included tour are Court of the Patriarchs, Emerald Pools, Weeping Rock, Temple of Sinawava and the Grotto. There is plenty to see and do without straining yourself, as there are fully-paved paths throughout Zion and many wheelchair accessible points of interest. At the end of your tour, you’ll arrive in Springdale for a one-night stay. (Overnight in Springdale)

DAY 5            BRYCE CANYON AND CAPITOL REEF NATIONAL PARKS
Continue your tour from Springdale to Bryce Canyon and Capitol Reef National Parks en route to Grand Junction. En route to Bryce Canyon, highlights will most certainly be the distinctive hoodoos (red rock pillars), bristlecone pine trees (the oldest trees in the world), and views from Sunrise, Sunset, and Inspiration Points. In Capitol Reef (the least known and least crowded park in Utah), explore the mesmerizing cliffs, hidden arches, massive sandstone domes that resemble capitol buildings, and deep canyons. Back in Grand Junction, spend your evening on your own strolling along Riverfront Trail or enjoying some farm-to-table cuisine. (Overnight Grand Junction)

DAY 6            SALT LAKE CITY
Travel from Grand Junction to Salt Lake City onboard the famous California Zephyr today. Marvel at the vivid hues of Utah’s deserts and the ever-changing landscapes. (Overnight in Salt Lake City)

DAY 7            WEST YELLOWSTONE   
Transfer to West Yellowstone in southern Montana from Salt Lake City. Upon arrival, check into your hotel and get settled. Then, step out and get to know the gateway to Yellowstone National Park. (Overnight in West Yellowstone)

DAY 8            YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK
Enjoy a full-day sightseeing tour of Yellowstone’s Lower Loop. Highlights of this tour include Old Faithful Geyser, the Old Faithful Inn, Isa Lake on the Continental Divide, and many more stunning landmarks. (Overnight in West Yellowstone)

DAY 9            SALT LAKE CITY
Transfer back to Salt Lake City from West Yellowstone. Enjoy your included dinner tonight and stroll through the city’s lively downtown streets. (Overnight in Salt Lake City) D

El Tovar

El Tovar Hotel, the premier lodging facility at the Grand Canyon, opened its doors in 1905 and was most recently renovated in 2005. In the past, the Hotel has hosted such luminaries as Theodore Roosevelt, Albert Einstein, Western author Zane Grey, and many others. Today, El Tovar retains its elegant charm. Located on the Canyon rim, it features a fine dining room (open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner), lounge and curio shop with newsstand.

Kachina Lodge

Located directly on the rim of the Grand Canyon, the Kachina Lodge is a great hotel for all guests visiting the South Rim.

Maswik Lodge

Maswik Lodge is a modern facility spread over several acres of ponderosa pine forest, located just 1/4 mile from the Canyon's edge. Maswik Lodge features a cafeteria that is open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Here you will also find a sports bar with a wide screen TV, a curio shop stocked with handicrafts and gifts, and a transportation/activities desk.

Thunderbird Lodge

Conveniently located between El Tovar and Bright Angel Lodge, Thunderbird is a contemporary lodge located at the South Rim.
