From Fort Worth to San Antonio and Houston, this eight-day rail journey through the Lone Star State represents America’s rugged Old West. Ready to fulfill your John Wayne-inspired Western fantasy or simply want to discover the most rootin’ tootin’ destinations for authentic saloons, rodeos, cattle drives, and frontier spirit? Well, these states aren’t just preserving the past, they actively practice it! In Fort Worth, you’ll gain access to the Stockyards National Historic District’s many popular attractions and experiences, such as meeting a Texas Longhorn, visiting the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, and meeting the drovers of the Fort Worth Herd. DAY 1              YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS IN FORT WORTH
Welcome to Fort Worth! When you arrive, check into your hotel and step out to start exploring this laid-back southern city. Your Stockyards Adventure Pass will introduce you to everything that makes this city so intriguing. Visit the Fort Worth Stockyards National Historic District’s many popular attractions, such as the Texas Cowboy Hall of Fame, Exchange Avenue’s cattle drive, Billy Bob’s Texas, and much, much more. One of the highlights of today’s adventures will most likely be meeting the drovers of the Fort Worth herd. (Overnight in Fort Worth)

DAY 2              FORT WORTH
The day and night is yours to explore at your leisure. With so much to see and do in Fort Worth, you won’t have to look too far to be entertained. Enjoy some Tex-Mex cuisine or world-famous BBQ, visit the beautiful Water Gardens, stop by the John F. Kennedy memorial, relax in Sundance Square, of visit the Fort Worth Zoo. (Overnight in Fort Worth)

DAY 3              FORT WORTH TO SAN ANTONIO
Spend your morning checking out the sights you didn’t get to see, like the acclaimed Kimball Art Museum or walk a section of the Trinity Trails. Then, board the Texas Eagle toward San Antonio! When you arrive, check into your hotel and spend your night getting some rest or having an authentic Texas-style dinner at a local favorite. (Overnight in San Antonio)

DAY 4              SAN ANTONIO
Today, begin using your multi-day hop-on, hop-off sightseeing tour of San Antonio. Prepare to take in all the crowd-pleasing, popular sights and attractions that brought you to this incredible city. During this tour, you’ll have the chance to experience the city’s distinctive heritage, art, culture, and preeminent landmarks. Visit The Alamo (famous for the 1836 Battle for Texas Independence), take a relaxing cruise along the San Antonio River, see the oldest stone church in America (the Mission Concepcion), stroll through the Japanese Sunken Gardens and El Mercado’s quintessential Mexican shops, and get a glimpse of Mission San Jose’s exquisite Rose Window stone carving. The evening is all yours to enjoy at your leisure. (Overnight in San Antonio)

DAY 5              SAN ANTONIO
Bull riding, roping steer, and busting broncos are cowboy traditions that can be traced back to the city’s earliest days. At The Buckhorn Saloon and Texas Rangers Museum, you’ll get a taste of that frontier life. The Buckhorn Saloon is conveniently located in the middle of downtown and its doors have been open for more than 131 years. At the Texas Ranger Museum, check out some priceless artifacts that document Ranger history. In the evening, spend some time strolling the renowned Riverwalk on your own. You never know what you’ll discover! (Overnight in San Antonio)

DAY 6              SAN ANTONIO TO HOUSTON
In the early morning, climb aboard the Sunset Limited toward Houston. When you arrive, check into your hotel and then you have the entire day to get to know the city’s roots and cowboy culture. Use your included CityPass to visit Space Center Houston, the Downtown Aquarium, Museum of National Science, and so much more! The rest of the day is yours to explore on your own. DAY 7              HOUSTON
Spend today exploring on your own and seeing everything you didn’t have a chance to yesterday. You don’t have to venture very far to discover a ranch where you can play the part of a “cowboy,” learn more about Houston’s Western heritage, enjoy a delectable ribeye, or do-si-do at a honky tonk!
