Trip Overview

Experience the beautiful west on this exciting seven-day journey that will take you from glamorous Hollywood to the majestic Grand Canyon. After sightseeing all around the “City of Angels” you will board Amtrak for an overnight journey towards historic Williams, Arizona. From there you will enjoy a hearty breakfast before boarding the Grand Canyon Railway for a scenic ride to the Grand Canyon's South Rim. Upon arriving in the Canyon, you will get to experience the majestic beauty that makes the Grand Canyon so iconic. Then after a couple of days of sightseeing, you will board the Grand Canyon Railway for your return journey back to Williams and then on to Los Angeles!

DAY 1 - ARRIVE IN LOS ANGELES
Welcome to Hollywood! After checking in to your hotel, take some time to begin exploring the city. (Overnight in Los Angeles)

DAY 2 - OVERNIGHT ONBOARD AMTRAK
Enjoy a sightseeing tour of Hollywood that will guide you around the city to experience the major highlights! Visit Grauman's Chinese Theatre, the Hollywood Walk of Fame, and the Hollywood Sign. You will also enjoy a tour through the Hollywood Hills where you will get to visit the homes of the stars! Later in the afternoon, travel to Los Angeles Union Station and board Amtrak's Southwest Chief to Williams, AZ. Relax and enjoy your trip to one of the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. (Overnight onboard Amtrak)

DAY 3 - WILLIAMS TO GRAND CANYON
Welcome to Williams Junction! Check in at Maswik Lodge for a two-night stay. This morning your hearty breakfast at the Fred Harvey Restaurant is included before you board the Grand Canyon Railway to the Grand Canyon. Upon arriving you will enjoy a guided tour of the Canyon's South Rim. Make sure you bring a camera to take pictures of the majestic beauty that will unfold for you. (Overnight in the Grand Canyon) B

DAY 4 - GRAND CANYON
Today spend your free time basking in the great outdoors and breathing in the fresh canyon air. Enjoy a stroll around the rim, or check out the shops and restaurants in the Grand Canyon Village. (Overnight in the Grand Canyon)

DAY 5 - OVERNIGHT ONBOARD AMTRAK
After a good night's sleep, board the Grand Canyon Railway back to Williams. This evening, enjoy your included dinner at the Fred Harvey Restaurant. Then travel to the station and board your train back to Los Angeles. As the train makes its way west, reflect upon your exciting trip to the Grand Canyon. (Overnight onboard Amtrak) D

DAY 6 - YOUR JOURNEY ENDS IN LOS ANGELES

El Tovar

El Tovar Hotel, the premier lodging facility at the Grand Canyon, opened its doors in 1905 and was most recently renovated in 2005. In the past, the Hotel has hosted such luminaries as Theodore Roosevelt, Albert Einstein, Western author Zane Grey, and many others. Today, El Tovar retains its elegant charm. Located on the Canyon rim, it features a fine dining room (open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner), lounge and curio shop with newsstand.

Kachina Lodge

Located directly on the rim of the Grand Canyon, the Kachina Lodge is a great hotel for all guests visiting the South Rim.

Maswik Lodge

Maswik Lodge is a modern facility spread over several acres of ponderosa pine forest, located just 1/4 mile from the Canyon's edge. Maswik Lodge features a cafeteria that is open from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm. Here you will also find a sports bar with a wide screen TV, a curio shop stocked with handicrafts and gifts, and a transportation/activities desk.

Thunderbird Lodge

Conveniently located between El Tovar and Bright Angel Lodge, Thunderbird is a contemporary lodge located at the South Rim.

Yavapai Lodge

Yavapai Lodge is Grand Canyon National Park Lodges' largest facility and is surrounded by pinyon and juniper woodlands, about 1/2 mile from the rim. With modern rooms and many services within a few steps, this is a convenient choice for families. Yavapai East rooms feature in-room air conditioning and Yavapai West rooms have vaulted ceilings with ceiling fans. The Lodge is located next to the Market Plaza, which includes a general store, bank, and U.S. Post Office.
